My
Story

Putting Our Students First

"I believe that the primary responsibility of School Boards is to prioritize the well-being and success of students. My commitment to this role as a Public School Trustee dates back to 2014, when I first ran for Trustee in the municipal election. I then served as a Trustee in York Region from 2017 to 2022. During this time, I gained a deep understanding of the Trustee role, which requires fostering transparent communication between school administration, parents, taxpayers, and the broader community. I am grateful for the opportunity to leverage my experience and advocate for the needs of students and the communities we serve in Calgary."

Experience, Dedications, Responsibilities

30+ Years

"As a former Public School Trustee and having served as Past Chair, Chair, and Vice-Chair of a large Board, I am eager to represent Wards 5 and 10, as well as all Calgary public schools, if selected. As Trustee, I will remain committed to advancing the initiatives already in progress for the benefit of our students. I am excited to bring my experience to this role, as I believe I can be a strong advocate for the families of Wards 5 and 10. With over 31 years of experience in various roles, I have remained dedicated to the education and safety of children, youth, and adults. Additionally, I bring a background as a former Private School teacher and Early Childhood Educator, having worked in these fields for over 19 years."

My Work Life

"I have served two terms as a Public School Trustee in York Region, bringing a wealth of experience to the role. In addition, I have spent several years working in the field of mental health with The Salvation Army, where I served as an operational trainer for homeless shelters across York Region, Peel, and Durham. As a self-employed Health and Safety trainer, I have worked extensively across Alberta and Ontario. I am also a former member of the CPAST Human Trafficking Committee. I am knowledgeable in dispute Resolution and conflict resolution. Beyond my professional experience, I remain actively engaged in various Boards, events, and committees, including serving as Past Chair of Jericho Youth Services and Vice-Chair of the Gateway Condo Board of Calgary"

My Family Life

"Being a working mother with two children in the Calgary school system —I fully understand the challenges of balancing school and family responsibilities. Like many, we all share a vested interest in the well-being of our community and children, and we strive to find the time to voice our needs. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your voice, acting as a bridge between the School Board and the communities of Wards 5 and 10."
